Welcome to Shobudo
History of Shobudo
The art of Shobudo was founded by Soke Nakasato Shoshu and was taught
on Okinawa during the late 1950’s through the mid 1980’s to a fortunate
few. The origins and history of both its founder and his art are very
vague as Soke Nakasato has and is (to this day) a very private, evasive,
protective and secretive individual.

What is Shobudo?
In general, Shobudo is strictly a defensive art … to avoid, evade, block,
parry, redirect and blend with the attack. Offense is second … to counter
with a combination of strikes, throws, chokes joint-locks and submission
takedowns.

of Futema at or near the intersection of Futema next to the Futema Shrine.
As I understood it, Mr. Yamagawa was the Chief of Police in Futema. As
I never question it, I did see him in uniform a couple of times.
